Europe Once Again Displays its Progressivism. With Holiday Characters.

How backwards of us Americans to rely on just Santa and his elves to stimulate our imagination this holiday season. How much more exciting it would be to have a log named Tio de Nadal in our home to care for during the holiday season and to crap out candy (or garlic) on Christmas Eve.

Plus, we are too soft on naughty children here. We need a Zwarte Piet (the Netherlands), Krampus (Austria), Belsnickel (Germany), Le Pere Fouettard (France, of course), or Gryla (Iceland) to really enforce the "naughty or nice" clause in the Christmas contract. I blame our childhood obesity epidemic on too many children getting candy instead of coal.
